Interwiki request[edit]

{{editprotected}} interwiki: hu:MediaWiki:Abusefilter-warning-linkspam Bináris (talk) 21:59, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please be more specific about what needs to be changed. --ANowlin: talk 22:39, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The request was fairly clear and I have actioned it. Adding interwiki links to MediaWiki pages is a first for me though. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 22:49, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wording[edit]

{{editprotected}} The edit filter effectiveness report consistently shows that this warning message is one of the least effective. I propose the removal of some of ambiguous parts from this warning and the addition of info about our Spam blacklist. (The proposed to be removed parts are stricken and the proposed to be added are in italics):

Your edit has triggered an automated throttle designed to limit spammers. It appears you are adding external links to many different Wikipedia pages in rapid succession. For some kinds of links this may be okay, but it is often a sign of people abusing spamming Wikipedia. If that is not your intent, we apologize. However, Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites. before you continue you may wish to review Wikipedia's policies of external links and spam as these may help you decide whether these links are appropriate for Wikipedia. Please feel free to ask at the Help Desk if you have any questions.

If you want to add references to the article, please, read WP:References for an appropriate way to do this. If you're sure you still want to make this edit, go to the bottom of this page and click 'Save page' again, and it will be submitted as is. If you were not trying to add links to many pages, and you received this message in error, you may report this error.

Looks reasonable to me. "it is often a sign ..." should probably be replaced by "This is often a sign ..." since it's the beginning of a new sentence. Is the "automated throttle" thingee a standard sentence present on all edit filter warnings? If so, it should be on either all or none of the warnings, I suppose. decltype (talk) 07:44, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
