Update request[edit]

Requesting an addition, but unsure exactly how. Please see Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Adding a link to the Cheatsheet in editing-mode helpnotes? for details. Much thanks :) --Quiddity 20:26, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Adding {{editprotected}} to this; the proposal is to change this to 'Wikipedia:Cheatsheet'. --ais523 13:44, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
See my response at your link above. -- Renesis (talk) 00:25, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Updated/altered proposal (to completely replace the link) resubmitted at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)#Replace "Editing help" with "Cheatsheet" link. Please comment there :) --Quiddity 21:46, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

2nd request[edit]

Per 100% support at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)#Replace "Editing help" with "Cheatsheet" link, please change this page's content to:

Wikipedia:Cheatsheet

Thanks. --Quiddity 21:11, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wasn't the name still under question? ---J.S (T/C) 19:14, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The name of the cheatsheet? Nobody replied to my statement that the current name was selected to match the title at meta (m:Cheatsheet), so I presume that question is settled for now. --Quiddity 20:03, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I made the change. the wub "?!" 21:11, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vanished?[edit]

This link seems to have vanished from my interface (I've tried in numerous browsers, and whilst logged-out), but it's still visible in the source code. Can anyone else still see the content of

<span class="editHelp"><a target="helpwindow" href="/wiki/Wikipedia:Cheatsheet">Editing help</a> (opens in new window)</span>

next to the "Cancel" link, when in the edit-window? And if not, any idea how it's getting hidden? –Quiddity (talk) 20:06, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ping @The wub:, just in case you can help (please at least confirm whether or not you can see the link), or suggest who to poke. Thanks :) –Quiddity (talk) 20:16, 5 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see it either (or more precisely, see it's been hidden with css). I've traced it back to this undiscussed change in the WikiEditor extension. @TheDJ: - how can we go about getting this reverted? Whilst it's certainly nice to have the stuff in the toolbar, Help:Cheatsheet is long-standing, more comprehensive, easier to edit, and has some very helpful see also links. the wub "?!" 22:40, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It is part of the drive to reduce clutter. The experiment ran for 6 months without any significant complaints so it was merged into the core. In any case you would have to open a ticket as always in bugzilla. I don't think it will be restored in the same way. Perhaps it could be added as a "More help" link or something in the WikiEditor toolbar ? —TheDJ (talkcontribs) 09:23, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
