If I remember correctly, this message is the label for the "unblock" button on the unblock form... which is used to unblock users as well as IP addresses. Perhaps it should say "Unblock this user"? – – Gurch 11:47, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're correct about what this message is for. However, the proposed text seems to have the same problem as the old one ("Unblock this address"). "Unblock this user, IP, or range" seems a bit long, though, if all the possibilities are to be covered. Maybe just "Unblock" would be a better option? --ais523 12:03, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, the equivalent message for the block button is "Block this user", even though the same form is used for IP addresses. That's all I was thinking of. You could change both, I suppose – – Gurch 13:53, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what should be done; I've asked for more community input on this. --ais523 18:00, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
I'd go with just "unblock". -- John Reaves 18:34, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
When in doubt, simplify. I concur with John Reaves, "unblock" is as much as is really needed. Nihiltres(t.l) 00:56, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, let's keep it simple, stupid :). (I'd go for "user" if you want to keep a longer text). -- lucasbfr talk (using User:Lucasbfr2) 08:22, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

checkY Done I've changed the relevant messages to "Unblock" and "Block", because several admins (including me) find this reasonable and there are no objections. --ais523 12:43, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
