Nascimento Grande

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nascimento Grande was a legendary capoeira fighter from 19th century Recife.

Among the various rogues who led the carnival processions in the streets of Recife, Nascimento Grande stood out as one of the most notorious figures.[1]

While some accounts suggest that he was killed during a police crackdown in the early 1900s, alternative sources assert that he relocated from Recife to Rio de Janeiro and died there in old age.[1]
