Neeraj Nayar (born 17 August 1971) is the Indian politician from Himachal Pradesh. He is currently serving as member of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly representing Chamba.[1] He won the election in 2022 Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly election.[2]
Nayar won the election, defeating BJP candidate Neelam Nayyar.[3]
Early life and family[edit]
Born on 17 August 1971, in Chamba, Neeraj Nayar is the son of Smt. Chanchal Nayar and Shri Sagar Chand Nayar. He is happily married to Smt. Bharti Nayar, and the couple is blessed with one son and one daughter.
Education and Professional Career[edit]
Neeraj Nayar is a graduate and has pursued a career as a businessman. His professional journey includes notable roles such as Director at J&K Gramin Bank from 2013 to 2017 and Chairman at APMC Chamba from 2013 to 2017.
Political and Social Contributions[edit]
Neeraj Nayar has actively contributed to the political and social landscape. He served as the President of the District Congress Committee Chamba from 2019 to 2023. Additionally, he has been a Member of the Steel Consumer Council (Ministry of Steel, Govt. of India) from 2011 to 2012 and a Member of Nagar Parishad Chamba from 2013 to 2017.
In December 2022, Neeraj Nayar was elected to the State Legislative Assembly, showcasing his commitment to public service. He has been nominated as a Member of the Estimates & Rural Planning Committees, contributing to the planning and development aspects of the region.
