Professional wrestling career[edit]

Early career (2018–2023)[edit]

Wayne began wrestling during childhood, being trained by his father Buddy Wayne.[4][5] He debuted on April 27, 2018, age 12.

On July 31, 2022, Wayne wrestled in a Four Corners match during the Ric Flair's Last Match event.[6]

On April 8, 2023, Wayne won the DEFY Wrestling World Championship after defeating Swerve Strickland.

All Elite Wrestling (2023–present)[edit]

On February 12, 2022, Wayne was offered an All Elite Wrestling contract by longtime friend Darby Allin during DEFY wrestling's 5th Anniversary event.[4][7] After turning 18 years old, Wayne made his AEW Dynamite debut on July 12, 2023 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, losing to Swerve Strickland.[8]

At WrestleDream on October 1, Wayne turned against Allin to side with Christian Cage during Cage's and Allin's match for the AEW TNT Championship.[9] Wayne joined Cage's stable The Patriarchy with Luchasaurus (later renamed to Killswitch) and was named as "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne.[10][11] At Full Gear, The Patriarchy lost to Adam Copeland, Sting and Allin in a six-man tag team match.[12] On the December 23 episode of Collision, Cage announced that Wayne's mother, Shayna, has joined The Patriarchy as "The Matriarch" Mother Wayne.[13]

Personal life[edit]

Wayne is a third generation wrestler, being the son of Buddy and Shayna Wayne, and the grandson of "Moondog" Ed Moretti.[4][14][7][15] Buddy Wayne died at the age of 50 on June 17, 2017 from a heart attack.[16][17]
