Osyana is a comic book and a graphic novel superheroine created from Epik Studios by Charles Santino (writer) and Jim Jimenez (artist) appeared on January 1, 2018. Inspired by the folklore of the Badjao people, an ethnic group in Mindanao who've traditionally lived a nomadic lifestyle on the water.[1]

Fictional character biography[edit]

Osyana, a sea siren with a mysterious past adopted by the Tribe people and living amongst them. Shrouded in a mystery as old as the briny deep itself, Osyana is the girl who became an immortal goddess-or is she a goddess who became a mortal girl? Sworn to defend the creatures and the treasures of the world through which she so effortlessly swims, the sea siren Osyana battles the terrifying pirate, Bandido, in a desperate attempt to preserve her tribe's culture and to save her people from her adversary's ancient evil.[2]

Powers and abilities[edit]

Osyana emopwered by a mutya or a sacred jewel grants her with immense superhuman physiology, the ability to manipulate any bodies of water, to communicate with sea life, she had the ability to become a water herself. Despite being self-doubt, she is highly intelligent and is also a skilled fighter.
