Peter J. Levesque is an American business executive, author and CEO of CMA CGM and American President Lines North America. CMA CGM operates over 600 containerships and 60 ports with more than 150,000 employees worldwide.[1]

Mr. Levesque used to be the head of the Ports America Group. His other job was to lead the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong for two terms. Currently, he is on the Board of the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C.[2]

Education and career[edit]

Peter got his BA in political science from the University of Massachusetts. He also got his MBA from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His job has been as an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship for both the Kellogg/HKUST MBA program and the MBA school at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.[3][4]

Mr. Levesque joined Modern Terminals in 2010 as Chief Commercial Officer. He became Chief Operating Officer in 2015 before taking on the role of Group Managing Director in 2016.[5]

After returning to the U.S., In February 2020, Mr. Levesque appointed new president of the Ports America Group is the largest port operator in the United States based in Jersey City, New Jersey.[6]

Levesque was the Senior Vice President of CEVA Logistics Supply Chain Group before joining Modern Terminals. Additionally, he was the International Supply Chain Group Asia Pacific Regional Vice President for DHL. He was a co-founder of V-Logic Limited, a specialized Hong Kong-based third-party logistics business that was purchased in 2006. Additionally, he served in a number of important managerial capacities for American President Lines, most notably as managing director of APL Logistics for North Asia.[4]

In November 2022, Peter J. Levesque appointed as president of CMA CGM America and American President lines.[7]
