The 2/4th Command Squadron was an Australian Army commando unit of World War II. The unit was formed in August 1941 and was posted to the Northern Territory in March 1942. The squadron took part in the Battle of Timor between September 1942 and January 1943. From August 1943 to February 1944 it participated in the Salamaua–Lae and Huon Peninsula campaigns. After a lengthy period of training the squadron played an important role in the liberation of Tarakan in May to June 1945. The 2/4th Commando Squadron was disbanded in January 1946.
