The Southern Kingdom of Judah included Jerusalem[edit]

...that the Northern Kingdom of Israel is sometimes referred to as Ephraim, which was the dominant tribe, and that the Southern Kingdom of Judah included Jerusalem.

7 'Did you knows' and #7 is "seven animals..."[edit]

...that there were seven, not two, of every ritually clean animal, in Noah's ark. Genesis 7:2

I didn't reword this example, I just moved it to the 7th position. Isn't it a 'coincidence' that this verse refers to "seven, not two" and is found in Gn 7:2?! - Brad Watson, Miami, FL 64.136.26.235 (talk) 12:58, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is not the case. Various translations say "7 pairs of each clean animal" others say just "7 of each clean animal" http://bible.cc/genesis/7-2.htm

The later verse referenced indicates that "animals went by pairs onto the ark" http://bible.cc/genesis/7-8.htm

This IN NO WAY indicates that there was only one pair of the clean animals, but rather that they went in pairs... for example, seven pairs of lions.

The text is not clear enough to warrant the statement DID YOU KNOW ...that there were seven, not two, of every ritually clean animal, in Noah's ark. Genesis 7:2, so I have removed it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DannyJimmy (talk • contribs) 19:19, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is foolish to suggest that the author would change his/her mind about how many of each clean animal there were within just a few sentences of text. Much better to assume you're reading it funny or looking at an odd translation, until you more definitively demonstrate otherwise.

The musical term 'selah' appears 74 times in the Bible[edit]

...that the word Christian only appears three times in the Bible, while the musical term selah appears 74 times in the Bible (NASB)

It seems that the purpose of this 'Did you know' section is to provide some fun and interesting facts about the Bible! By stating "...that the word Christian only appears 3x in the Bible", that implies that most - perhaps almost all - Christians and non-Christians who have read the Bible and those that haven't will be surprised by 'only 3x'. (I was surprised at the very low number.) Therefore, I added a factoid to show some irony: "while the musical term selah appears 74x in the Bible." - Brad Watson, Miami, FL 64.136.26.235 (talk) 13:09, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
