Recommendations to improve page to featured portal status

List includes recommendations with replies/status.

• Remove any red links.
  • Done.
• Rename "Main articles" section.
  • Done. Renamed to "Main topics."
• Consider options for large size of page.
  • Done. Converted to tabbed subpages. Show/Hide boxes don't work properly on all skins.
• Change-up layouts to some list sections for variety.
  • Done. Added wiki-icons and images to list sections.
• Move science news section down.
  • Done. Moved below rotated content.
• Expand introduction.

• Add table of contents.
  • Done. Tabs cut down content on each page and serve as a TOC.
• Reduce size of category list.
  • No change. Moving to subpage reduced much "content overload." Those who support topics left out often feel slighted in broad topics like this.

  • Done. Added several non-physicist featured biographies.

• Make a "Recent Changes" link to a "Recent Changes subpage for all Science Articles"

• This could be done by tagging all the articles that are related to science with the Science category. The flaw with Subcategories, is that you can't do a recent changes with the Sub categories. If you would make an effort to tag them all with the general category, we could monitor change and addition to science articles and it would spur motivation to write with others in a community feel.
