Róisín Ní Ríain (born 7 May 2005) is an Irish Paralympic swimmer who competes in international swimming competitions.

Career[edit]

She competed at the 2020 World Para Swimming European Open Championships and won a bronze medal in the 100 metre backstroke S13 event. She competed at the 2022 World Para Swimming Championships and won bronze medals in the 100m backstroke and 100m butterfly S13 events.[1][2]

She was the youngest athlete for Ireland at the 2020 Summer Paralympics but she did not medal.[3]

In 2023 Ní Ríain Became World champion winning the 100m Backstroke and won Silver in the 100m Butterfly.

To begin the Olympic Year of 2024 she competed at World Para Swimming European Championships and on won Gold in the 100m Backstroke and the 100m Breastroke and Silver in the 100m Butterfly While it was 8th place for the Limerick Teen in the 50m Freestyle. On Day 6 of the championships another medal was won this time Bronze in the 400m Freestyle. On The Final day Ní Ríain won Silver in the 200m IM bringing her medal tally to 5 from 6 events across 7 days
