Shalyar Rural District (Persian: دهستان شاليار) is in Uraman District of Sarvabad County, Kurdistan province, Iran.[3] Its capital is the village of Selin.[3]

At the National Census of 2006, its population was 5,574 in 1,220 households.[4] There were 4,729 inhabitants in 1,240 households at the following census of 2011.[5] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 4,056 in 1,160 households. The most populous of its 10 villages was Zhivar, with 1,282 people.[2]
