Spinx is a company with multiple gas station and convenience store locations in South Carolina, namely in Upstate South Carolina, often competing with QuikTrip. The company was founded in Greenville, South Carolina in 1972 by Stewart Spinks.[1]

The company name is a word play on the family Spinks and the Sphinx.

History[edit]

Founded in 1972, Spinx has grown to 80 convenience store locations and 50 car washes while becoming one of the largest retailers in South Carolina. [2] The company is well known for its fried chicken, chicken biscuits, and chicken tenders. In recent years, they have been a major philanthropic provider as well recently donating to local causes and the American Cancer Society. [3]
