"Sweet / I Thought You Wanted to Dance" is a song by the American rapper Tyler, the Creator, released on June 25, 2021, from his sixth studio album Call Me If You Get Lost (2021), and features the American singers Brent Faiyaz and Fana Hues. Composition and lyrics[edit]

The track follows a recurring theme in the tenth track of Tyler's albums, being a two part track, with the first part, "Sweet", and "I Thought You Wanted to Dance", the second part. "Sweet"—which lasts for four minutes—is in the style of synth-pop[1][2] and R&B,[3] featuring synthesizers that "loop and swirl", with its lyrics having Tyler daydream about his romantic interest.[4]

Towards the middle of the song, the beat switches to the second part of the track, "I Thought You Wanted to Dance", which lasts for five minutes and has a reggae and dancehall style,[1][3] and its lyrics deal with his feelings of heartbreak and regret.[1][5] Both parts of the song also incorporate elements of soft funk.[5][6]
