Gender-bias in this article?[edit]

The opening paragraph implies that the position of President of France can only be held by a male (i.e. "...is the official residence of the President of France, where his office is located...". With Segolene Royal on the scene that could soon change. I think the gender bias should be removed...any thoughts? Scott 110 23:59, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

That's not gender-bias! Your comments are political correctness gone mad. Wimstead (talk) 21:17, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orangutan in Élysée[edit]

What the hell is this? "In 1917, an orangutan escaped from a nearby ménagerie, entered the palace and was said to have tried to haul the wife of President Raymond Poincaré into a tree only to be foiled by Élysée guards. President Paul Deschanel, who resigned in 1920 because of mental illness, was said to have been so impressed by the orangutan's feat that, to the alarm of his guests, he took to jumping into trees during state receptions." We would definitely need citation for all that. Korovioff 15:48, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
