Gallery[edit]

Eleassar, I'm afraid I can see no reason whatsoever to have removed the gallery from this article. I think it was a useful addition to the text. Could you explain why you've done this please?

Furthermore, as a general point, it might be a good idea to bring these matters to the talk page before going ahead with your deletion, and please use an informative explanatory edit summary (not just fmt; removed gallery) giving your reasons for such deletions. Many thanks. AlasdairGreen27 (talk) 10:29, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for not doing so. You can have a look at Talk:Franja Partisan Hospital where we have discussed a very similar case. --Eleassar my talk 11:28, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Right, so let's get this straight, if we may. You don't think there should be galleries at all, even if, as in this case, they only comprise three pictures? Would that be accurate to say?

Franja was not especially similar, as your point there was that there were too many pictures and they cluttered the page up. AlasdairGreen27 (talk) 11:33, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The same in this article: there were too many images and they cluttered the page up. There is no need to include a gallery when all the relevant images can be put more elegantly along the text. Even more, a link to a corresponding gallery in Commons and an external link providing a 3D tour of the cemetery have been provided.
I have taken another look at the images that I admit were probably removed too hastily. The first one is an image of the entrance gate from another angle. There is no need to include two images of the same object. The second and the third one both represent a chapel of the dead; in my opinion one of them is enough. It would be more interesting to add an image of the graves of the cemetery, but I have not found any yet.
Anyhow, the images illustrate only a part of Žale (Central cemetery), called Plečnik Žale cemetery, which is not used for burial itself but for pre-burial ceremonies. It does not seem suitable to me to include so many images of this part in a general article; it may be undue weight. --Eleassar my talk 12:09, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm. I hardly think it's fair to say "there were too many images and they cluttered the page up". We're discussing three little thumbs at the bottom. However, I really can't be arsed arguing about it, so I'll leave you to decide how many images (or none) there should be on this article. AlasdairGreen27 (talk) 14:27, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
