Rename to "…Like Clockwork"[edit]

This article currently begins with ". . ." (that is, three periods), when it should begin with "…", a horizontal ellipse (&hellip HTML entity). Perhaps this should be renamed for accuracy? Nick Heer 20:40, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed and done. jameslucas (" " / +) 12:35, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure that I agree with this. Wikipedia's manual of style specifically discourages the use of precomposed ellipsis characters, such as the ones in this article (see MOS:ELLIPSIS) – three periods would be better. A Thousand Doors (talk | contribs) 19:13, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's a good point but then, perhaps a note should be included in the article mentioning the difference? Chaosu¹ (talk) 13:07, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a difference? What would such a note say? A Thousand Doors (talk | contribs) 14:56, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Jake Shears[edit]

Jake Shears performed on the song 'Keep Your Eyes Peeled'. He has confirmed this on his verified twitter page (https://twitter.com/Jakeshears/status/335039460834172928) and you can very clearly hear his voice at 3:20 panned into the left speaker.

I have changed this 3 times now, added a reference to prove the information was correct, yet it has always been reverted. Why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.194.177.76 (talk) 10:55, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

He clearly sings on Smooth Sailing as well. Someone needs to change this. I would do it myself but last time I did it was reverted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.155.203.8 (talk) 18:07, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

On the official Queens of the Stone Age website he is only credited on "Keep Your Eyes Peeled": Queens of the Stone Age ...Like Clockwork. I don't have this CD, but I quess the album booklet says the same thing. — Mayast (talk) 07:51, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Stoner Rock[edit]

Queens of the Stone Age have always been and will continue to be stoner rock. It is very clear that this album is a stoner rock album and the genre is very well shown during the album. So why whenever I add the genre "stoner rock" it is reverted? I have listened to Queens for ages, and I definitely know this. TheHolyKiwi (talk) 05:02, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

In the past, people have edit warred over the genre, so any unexplained changes are automatically reverted when they are noticed, even by those who agree. It's taken as opinion, rather than fact. You may want to post at the Queens of the Stone Age WikiProject to gain support for this edit. (See their banner at the top of this page.) There will likely be opposition. Some may think alternative rock is a better general description, and only want to list one genre. I know there was some discussion about stoner rock in the past, (check the article history,) and arguments that this album had none. What will help the most is to find reliable sources that explicitly name the genre, but short of that, consensus could possibly be found, if there is enough involvement. —PC-XT+ 17:38, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
