11th Aviation Regiment[edit]

On the subject of the 11th Aviation Regiment, the US Army Center of Military History has the following to say:

" Note: Although the unit is frequently referred to as the 11th Aviation Regiment, it is actually organized under the TOE for an avaition group and its official designation is HHC, 11th Aviation Group ".SSG Cornelius Seon (Retired) 05:58, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The insignia portrayed on the Wikipedia website is that of the 11th Aviation Regiment, formerly the 11th Aviation Battalion prior to Aviation going "regimental" in the late 1980s. The 1st Battalion, 11th Aviation Regiment is presently a school unit at Fort Rucker, AL.

Casing colours[edit]

Is "The unit was deactivated by casing its colours " clear? I'd link to soemthing on the tradition of casing colours if I knew where. (Since this is a US military article should that be colors or colours?) RJFJR 17:50, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
