Presidential election[edit]

Any reason why the article name refers to general election and not presidential election like 1898 Brazilian presidential election and consecutive elections? The article text does not explain this difference. --C960657 (talk) 20:43, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Because it was a general election, with both the upper and lower houses of Congress elected alongside the president. However, the source I have gives no details on the Congressional election other than confirming it took place alongside the presidential elections. I've added a little more to the intro to explain.
