It would be good if this page said which party actually won the election, or even which party each politician represented. I know there were a lot of independents at this point, but this page is still massively unhelpful. --Helenalex 22:10, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It was a deadlock. The Liberals were able to appoint a Speaker, and won a confidence motion on his casting vote. They then prorogued Parliament for a few months, and immediately lost a confidence vote when it reconvened. See the entry on Joseph Ward for some of the details.
