The BBC's wartime provision of Welsh-language news bulletins was somewhat more complicated than is implied in the present entry (the relevant reference link from which is dead BTW): in particular, nationwide transmission of "the news in Welsh" in the Home Service at 17.00 began only on 18 February 1940.
