The alleged awarded 3–0 victories for the USSR[edit]
The quotation from the source, namely "In connection with the withdrawal of Spain (v. USSR) the Committee decided to apply Article 7 of the Regulations, namely, to qualify Russia for the Final Tournament.", makes no indication of any awarded scorelines. The 3–0 scoreline for such a walkover is a more recent introduction, and the 6–0 aggregate score that one sees in UEFA's page is probably a quirk with the databases or an attempt to 'complete' the picture from today's perspective; same as Greece vs Albania in the 1964 qualifying, discussed at WT:FOOTY, 28 September 2023. --Theurgist (talk) 14:37, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
