Possible mix up[edit]

I think that the seasons 1966/67 and 1967 /68 may have been mixed up. It was in 1966 /67 that Celtic won the grand slam including their European Cup triumph. As far as I can remember it was in the 1966 /67 season that they won the league with 63 points losing to Dundee United home and away and drawing with Rangers away. I think Rangers finished the season with 61points. I think that the two seasons 1966 /67 and 1967 /68 have been mixed up. It would be as well to check this out. @Malcolm 1954: Moved from article itself, this is the place for such notes. I'll have a look myself, seems unlikely that such a big error would have been made, particularly to such significant seasons. I have a pre-internet SFL handbook so if it is an error and has been repeated online, it would hopefully be correct in the book. Crowsus (talk) 19:06, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Update:Had a look at the book, it doesn't have the full tables but gives the points for the winners as 58 in '67 and 63 in '68 which matches what is on here. The 1967 table is the same on RSSSF which is a pretty reliable source of information (For some reason they don't have the tables for the next 8 years however!). Tables are the same on Rangers and Celtic Wikipedia lists (where there would be a few eagle eyed contributors who would spot a mistake like that), on Football Club History Database and on Fitbastats.com - its not impossible that these web sources could have drawn from the same incorrect source, but very unlikely given the prominence of the data in this instance. Hope that allays your fears. Crowsus (talk) 19:18, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
