Hayman Hall (Tom Gola Arena)[edit]

I left Hayman Hall (Tom Gola Arena) as a redlink, until it can be determined exactly what happened. The 1983 game was played in Hayman Hall. Tom Gola is the current name of their arena, but it does not appear to be a rename. My guess is that the old structure was razed, and a new one built in the same place, but that's a guess. --SPhilbrick(Talk) 00:54, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Indiana - at-large or automatic?[edit]

Per NCAA source, Indiana was an at-large bid in 1983. However, That source also indicates that the Big Ten had an automatic bid in 1983, and no other Big Ten team appeared in the NCAA in 1983. In additional, according to the Indiana media guide, page 67 http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/ind/sports/w-baskbl/auto_pdf/2011-12/misc_non_event/media-guide-103111.pdf Indiana was one of the co-champions in 1983.

Thus, it seems likely that the one symbol "@" in page 140 of the NCAA source should be a "*". I have an email to the NCAA for clarification.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 12:11, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I received an email response from the NCAA confirming that my assumption is correct. I fully understand that my say so doesn't constitute a RS, however, the email indicated that the NCAA will be correcting their records books, so the updated record book, typically released in the fall, should have the corrected information.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 17:45, 30 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks to Rick Nixon of the NCAA who provided copies of the pre-2002 logos, which were not available online.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 17:44, 30 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
