Hashimpura Massacre is a part of Meerut Riots[edit]

Before anyone redirects this page once again to Hashimpura massacre, let them clarify why they think that a large scale communal riot where officially 350 people died is going to be a redirect of a massacre of 42 people. Don't redirect wthout checking the references given and without giving a valid explanation, "Why 350 deaths is going to a part of massacre of 42 people?"

The 350 deaths include Hashimpura massacre. I agree the Hashimpura massacre got more coverage recently due to the court judgement. Other cases were not investigated extensively by the Government. Title[edit]

The title should, of course, be 1987 Meerut riots (lower case r for "riots"; see WP:TITLEFORMAT) rather than 1987 Meerut Riots. The former is already a redirect. --David Biddulph (talk) 09:26, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

1987 Meerut communal riots → 1987 Meerut riots – The current name doesnt align with WP:CONSISTENT as many other riot pages are named as 2002 Gujarat riots, 1969 Gujarat riots, 2020 Delhi riots.
