Assessment[edit]

This one was tough, but I went with mid-importance. Dale Earnhardt's death is covered in his article, which is top-importance. --Coredesat talk. o_O 21:26, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Citations[edit]

This article asks for citations for the facts that the Daytona 500 was Waltrip's first career win and Earnhardt Sr.'s scoring for the 500. Here is a cite for the Waltrip fact:

Please feel free to add as I'm not quite sure how to do citations.

As for the Earnhardt scoring, I'd heard that they scored him in third, but I'll look around some more.--WinOne4TheGipper (talk) 18:51, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Ah ha, easy enough. Here, Earnhardt was officially scored in 12th...

Again, I would like someone to add these for me. Thanks.--WinOne4TheGipper (talk) 18:53, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edits made April 12, 2012[edit]

Whoever did this article seemed to have a lack of grasp on proper encyclopedic article writing, grammar, and must really want to drive home the fact that they are a Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan. I spent a lot longer than what I will readily admit to any sane person almost re-writing this article. If we are going to write season reviews, please make sure they are of the highest quality. Thanks. --Bluorangefyre (talk) 08:09, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Limited full time schedule drivers[edit]

Kevin Harvick didn't run part time in 2001, so why is he in part time instead of full time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Allen terry (talkcontribs) 14:00, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think that could go either way. Yes, he was tapped as Earnhardt's permanent replacement driver, but before Dale Earnhardt was killed, Childress actually planned to use Kevin Harvick sparingly in the #30 AOL-sponsored car to get him ready to compete for Rookie of the Year in 2002. I think the user that put him there did so because Harvick wasn't initially planned to run the full schedule, plus he ran 35 out of 36 races. I do think he should be placed in full time however. I have also had that same question. I agree with you two, but the thing is that Kevin Harvick did win Rookie of the Year in 2001 and finished 9th in the point standings, and Dale Earnhardt did finished 57th despite only competing in one race obviously. I also think that the #3/29 car should be listed as a full-time ride and the #30 car should be listed as part time. Ptb1997 (talk) 13:30, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

EA Sports 500 - Earnhardt Jr's Penalty[edit]

It states in the article that Dale Earnhardt Jr. was docked for failing post race inspection. However, using Racing Reference as a source, that shows that Earnhardt Jr was awarded the full 185 points for the win and for leading the most laps. Looking for someone to clarify whether or not Earnhardt Jr was indeed docked points for failing post race inspection. I will leave this part of the article alone for now.
