Full results?[edit]

Hmm. This page will get veeeery long if we list all the results, especially for the doubles as well...

I was thinking we could have something a tiny bit more expansive than 2005 Australian Open, bt this is heading to be really complete...

oh well. If people keep adding the results I guess we can run with it. (I'm not putting my hand up to do it, only the summary info!) But if by the end of the tournament it's only partial, I think we should scrap it all together.

It might be possible to do some nice EasyTimeline - that would be worth looking into.

We could split it off into Results of the 2006 Australian Open, of course. I copied it here from 2006 in sports because it definitely would bloat that page, but I think it's valid and should be here somewhere. Just not sure where. 07:42, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
OK, yikes. Now we've got 2006 Australian Open - Men's Singles with some results, this page has some results, 2006 Australian Open - Women's Singles also has results... This is quickly getting very, very confusing... Sam Vimes 23:10, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Argh. Serious overkill. Inconsistent formatting. People should not dump data on WP unless they are willing to wikify it. Do we have a MOS entry on sports scores I wonder? pfctdayelise 00:19, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Who needs all the scores? Is this an encyclopedia or a scoreboard???--Nitsansh 01:14, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like them - I think it's a natural expansion of the encyclopedia. It's just that we need some kind of consistency. As for an MOS entry - don't think so, it's not been deemed important enough yet (and there are, to be fair, quite a few sports to be settled on). Sam Vimes 07:55, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can anyone supply information on the prize money for this and other Grand Slam Tournaments? Murmur 15:45, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Check out the [1] at atptennis.com. The bar on the righthand side has the prize money breakdown — information seems to be updated for 2006. Notice that, even though the tournament's purse (at the top) is given in Australian dollars, the breakdown gives the amounts in US dollars. I hope it helps. Unify information[edit]

The full results for the first and second rounds should be moved to the specific article, which already exists and holds the information for all the other rounds. There's no reason at all for this to be here when the rest of the information has been added to a specific article. Regards, Redux 17:47, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If no one has anything to say about it, I will perform the move. Regards, Redux 12:18, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Go ahead. Much more sensible way of doing it. Sam Vimes 12:23, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It is done. Thanks. Redux 13:03, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

reassessed as Start, only game results, no text on the event nothing about player injuries, game controversies, withdrawals etc. Maybe this is more a candidate for a list type article. Gnangarra 13:10, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
