Ireland[edit]

is there a reason that Ireland has a shamrock for their flag? - surely it should just be the Irish flag? Goldfinger820 22:24, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think the reason for this is that the Irish national team represents both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The Irish flag is the Republic of Ireland's flag only, meaning it wouldn't be very politically correct to use it. -- Leo | Talk 00:33, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Quite so, the Irish flag would be inappropriate. In my opinion, it should be the Irish Rugby Football Union logo. That would be the most correct. -- Greaser 03:12, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
