new points system[edit]

Is their going to be a new points system in 2010 like in F1--Wrcf1 16:51, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

no, not that i've heard Petera93 (talk) 18:00, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Intro vs. proposed calendar[edit]

Is it just me, or does the intro not match the proposed calendar at all? It claims 12 rallies, while the calendar contains 13. It states the season will open in Monte Carlo, which is not even in the calendar. This is in need of a revision... -- Rouven Thimm (talk) 21:01, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes i know it has been change now but the calendar comes out on friday so it is a only proposed calendar and will change.-- 27127A (talk) 13:17, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I changed the calendar when it was announced at autosport.com but I forgot to change the intro. Thank you for alerting it to me, I changed it immediately. Petera93 (talk) 18:00, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WRC cup[edit]

I think we need to make a page for the WRC cup, i take it their will be a points systems and things?.272812A(wrcf1) (talk) 20:11, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mean a page for the WRC Cup in general or just for the 2010 WRC Cup? We certainly do not need a page specifically for 2010. As for a general page it might be better to take that up elsewhere. I think it can wait for next year when we know a bit more about it. - mspete93 [talk] 19:26, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I mean a general page yes will should wait til more info comes out and i have put this on the Super2000 Talk page too.272812A(wrcf1) (talk) 20:28, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2009 Manufacturers[edit]

I can't see any reference to the Therminator Rally Team in the offical WRC website and I believe that they should be removed and for completness Stobart and Munchi's should be added.Bjmullan (talk) 19:20, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are aware this is the 2010 page aren't you, after changing the tense! Stobart and Munchi's participation is not yet confirmed, and read the source for the Therminator Rally Team. - mspete93 19:22, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure what I was up too! I think I will go and watch some TV. Sorry for the mix up. Bjmullan (talk) 19:25, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

car numbers[edit]

When do you think the car numbers are going to come out because i can not find them anywhere?? --WrcF1(Talk) 20:45, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rally Sweden is still four weeks away but it will probably be soon. The main Citroens and Fords are numbered 1,2,3,4. The Citroen Juniors were given numbers 5 and 6 but Stobart have since registered as a manufacturer so this might change. - mspete93 12:12, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How do you know that??--WrcF1(Talk) 12:44, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I remembered this FIA Press release and thought it had numbers on it, but it turns out that it doesn't. The official entry list has yet to be released. When it is there will be numbers. - mspete93 12:58, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Major non-manufacturer entries[edit]

This section is intended to show people like Solberg, Ostberg and Block, not the two minor Dutch teams. I would propose removing them. We do not need to show everybody that turns up in an A8 class car. - mspete93 20:59, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

yer but their running 2 cars--WrcF1(Talk) 21:14, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There were so few drivers actually mentioned in the table as it was and now more are being removed which is surely the wrong way to go. It really is so minimal and flimsy compared to the number of drivers that actually compete in any given rally. Also, other series such as 2010 Rolex Sports Car Series season and 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series seem to name everybody which I have far, far less of a problem with than hardly naming anyone, what is the idea behind it here? Officially Mr X (talk) 16:11, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The WRC and other rally series cannot be compared to those circuit racing series. Rallies have 50+ entries each, many of which are one-off local entries. We cannot mention each of these. The intention of the additional section to the table is to show those privateers competing towards the front of the field such as Solberg and Ostberg, or those that generate a high level of media interest such as Block. Just because a small minor team can afford to enter two cars it does not make them a major team. The table covers everybody likely to score points. Other regular drivers will be covered by JWRC, PWRC and SWRC entry lists. If you want you can add individual rally entry lists to their individual reports, but there is no place for them on this page. - mspete93 16:17, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

John Kennard[edit]

Can someone edit so that John Kennard´s page (P-WRC co-driver) isnt linked to a dead guy with same name? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.55.90.110 (talk) 02:35, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Cs-wolves(talk) 10:48, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rally France[edit]

The current article for the French round of the WRC is Tour de Corse. In 2010 the rally moves to Alsace. Both these events are know as the Rallye de France. Therefore I suggest moving Tour de Corse to Rallye de France. Alternatively, we can create a new article for the Rallye Alsace-Vosges, as both rallies have their own history. What do we think? - mspete93 13:43, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Tour has a lengthy and famous history all of its own, it certainly deserves its own article. What we see here is WRC moving toward the F1 model of having events defined by nationality. 1000 Lakes becomes the more generic Rally Finand, the RAC becomes Rally GB, and so on. I think a new page is on order here. Pyrope 14:25, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Separate articles, definitely. This case is similar to Rallye Sanremo being replaced by Rally d'Italia Sardegna. "Rallye de France" can redirect to the more popular meaning or be converted into a dab page. Prolog (talk) 18:45, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Another vote for the create new. Cs-wolves(talk) 18:55, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the feedback. I have created Rallye Alsace-Vosges, taking the results from the French page. I have redirected Rallye de France. - mspete93 20:12, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nice work. However, I had to revert the redirect target change. There are currently over 70 articles linking to Rallye de France and all of these are looking for Tour de Corse. This needs to be fixed before the target is changed. Prolog (talk) 21:37, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. Why on earth did I not think of that first? Thanks for spotting. Feel really stupid after that. - mspete93 23:15, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The total stage distance of the event has been changed to 300–500 kilometres.[edit]

It would be useful to add what the old distance was. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.252.209.166 (talk) 16:55, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Results table[edit]

Someone needs to do the Results table.--WrcF1(Talk) 17:16, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn´t Citroën Junior team have 10pts, not 14? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.55.90.110 (talk) 10:29, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nope. See here. Cs-wolves(talk) 14:53, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

'

Ahh, they´re counting Solberg´s position to the points. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.55.90.110 (talk) 14:47, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

See below:
Team Points Positions
BP Ford World Rally Team 40 Hirvonen 1st (25); Latvala 3rd (15)
Citroën Total World Rally Team 30 Loeb 2nd (18); Sordo 4th (12)
Citroën Junior Team 14 Ogier 5th (10); Räikkönen 29th (4)
Stobart M-Sport Ford Rally Team 14 H. Solberg 6th (8); Grönholm 21st (6)
Petter Solberg is not registered to score manufacturer points. Manufacturer points relate to those registered. See here. Cs-wolves(talk) 15:05, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Manufacturer points are not calculated by totaling the drivers points. Imagine the 8 manufacuturer registered cars above had their own leaderboard. Gronholm would have finished 7th and Raikkonen would have been 8th, with the top 6 remaining the same. Hope that makes sense. In fact, here is that leaderboard, with the 8 cars that scored manufacturer points for Rally Sweden. - mspete93 17:38, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jordan S2000 switch for Al Qassimi[edit]

Al Qassimi is in a s2000 Fiesta in jordan [1] where should we put him in s2000 class? --WrcF1(Talk) 21:52, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's unlikely they would have entered him in SWRC for one event. It may not be possible by regulations either without commiting to the whole series, as he is not from Jordan. If it turns out that he is SWRC-registered, we can add him, but I find it unlikely, particularly as it is a late change, with him driving a WRC Focus in the latest entry list. - mspete93 22:07, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Teams and drivers[edit]

why have u done that to the table and removed the ref?--WrcF1(Talk) 21:07, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I knew you would ask! I added the italics to show which cars were registered for manufacturer points, and I planned to do this for previous seasons. However, I then found I could not do this for 2009 because Citroen Junior did not just have their main cars #7 and #8 always scoring points, they often nominated #12 Ogier, and #11 Solberg on GB. Thus, I can now remove the italics from this table if you wish, even though it works in that way at the moment, with Stobart changing the driver of their #5 depending on who they want to nominate. I have made the changes to make it easier to understand, as can be seen with the 2008 and 2009 season pages that I have now changed. Hope that explains it enough. Due to the way that numbers can change, it makes it difficult to represent all this info in a table, but I have tried my best. For drivers with numbers that could change from event to event, e.g. Ostberg, we can simply use the latest number, until the end of the season when we could replace it with a dash, as per 2008. - mspete93 21:07, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The italics doesnt work for this year too because Sébastien Ogier was at round 5 New Zealand but was NOT there as a registered for scoring manufacturers' points so could only get drivers points not Manufacturer points.--WrcF1(Talk) 12:23, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, well done for spotting that. Shame Citroen Junior don't use the system that Stobart do. Not to worry. - mspete93 16:34, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Xavi Pons[edit]

Why is included in the team Stobard, Xavier Pons?. The spanish driver competed with Nupel Global Racing team. Jorjum (talk) 11:56, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

He had been on the Rally Catalunya provisional entry list but did not compete. Shall remove. Cs-wolves(talk) 13:08, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
