Please correct[edit]

The article states that Liverpool advanced on away goals rule against Manchester City but then it states that the aggregate score was 3-2. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.124.16.44 (talk) 16:45, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I will be working my way through the article and adding any queries where I see fit. Feel free to make corrections, or correct me as I go along.

General

  • No concerns with imaging.
  • No concerns about the reliability of sources.
  • No dab links, nor dead links.
  • Two of the external links do not meet WP:EL as they are used as references. They need removing.
  • Ref 34 was published on 'guardian.co.uk' not The Guardian newspaper.

Lead

  • Replace comma in "...the eleventh time, they had previously..." with a semicolon.
  • "Cardiff's matches were all close affairs, the biggest margin they won by was two goals." and "Liverpool's matches were similarly close. Their biggest margin of victory was two goals..." I don't see no reason why this can't be merged. Something like "Both Liverpool and Cardiff's matches were close affairs; their biggest margins of victory was by two goals. Liverpool beat Manchester City to reach the final, where as Cardiff progressed on penalties against Crystal Palace"
  • The lead should act as a summary of the article; there is no mention about what the managers thought after the match.

Route to the final

Have taken the liberty to copyedit these.

Match report

  • when a Gunnarsson long-throw is", long throw does not need to be hyphenated, otherwise fine.

Post match

  • Anthony Gerrard, who missed the decisive penalty took to Twitter to apologise to Cardiff fans stating that the miss would "...haunt me for the rest of my days!" needs a source, preferably a news report.
  • "Liverpool's first match after the final was against Arsenal, a match the club needed to win to stay in touch with the top four.", said who?
It states "Kenny Dalglish's side, fresh from their Carling Cup final victory, paraded that trophy before kick-off but their hopes of using it as a foundation for a push towards the Champions League places were to be frustrated." not sure if that is sufficient enough? If not I'll reword it. NapHit (talk) 17:05, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
My mistake! Will pass. Lemonade51 (talk) 17:40, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Otherwise, a good article. On hold. -- Lemonade51 (talk) 13:09, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
