... hope this helps. Might want to copy 'n paste those empty tables, and paste them over, stage them on the 2017 page, so you'll always have a set of blank tables to work with --— Preceding unsigned comment added by 100.32.235.234 (talkcontribs)

Texas[edit]

Why did we take Texas out. The race was cancelled not the whole event.--Kpaspery (talk) 23:23, 12 June 2016 (UTC) ·I see now. Came in half way through an edit.--Kpaspery (talk) 23:25, 12 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That section's really badly written as it stands -"The drivers will be credited with the finishes and points with TEX has been designated." Eh? Also, do Newgarden, Munoz and Daly's points totals include their confirmed results from this race (pole for Munoz, low finishes for the other two)?--MartinUK (talk) 23:10, 5 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The race will be restarted in August at the lap 72. All drivers, who did not finished the first 71 laps from June, will be credited with the points of their race-position at the moment of their DNF. Munoz will be credited with the championship bonus point for his pole position, because there will be no other qualifying in August. The starting positions are the race positions of lap 71 from June.--Mark McWire (talk) 00:46, 6 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I think, their points are included in the total points of the table. --Mark McWire (talk) 00:48, 6 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I went to remove the Texas points from the tables, as they are not part of the official points standings until the race is fully complete; but I was almost immediately reverted by Nascarking, with no discernible reason provided in the edit summary. Currently none of Daly, JoNew nor Munoz have been officially awarded any points from the race, and won't get them until the end of August; so why are we adding them to the table now? I wanted to clarify my actions even though I'm not required to give a reason in the edit summary. I reverted it because Joseph Newgarden and Conor Daly won't be allowed to continue in the race, so setting the points for them was justified. I had a screw up with the edit summary, so I deleted it. If you feel not including their points for Texas until the race concludes is the way to go, I won't fight it. I just wanted to explain my actions.--Nascar king 21:15, 10 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
