CSD[edit]

I have requested speedy deletion for this article because (a) firstly byelections are normally notable enough to warrant separate pages, (b) the only notable thing about this election was the protests, which are amply covered in the corresponding page Srinagar bypoll election protests 2017. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 21:25, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have addressed the A7 issue. Regarding the Srinagar bypoll election protests 2017; this article was created first so that criteria also does not apply. Please have a good read of WP:CSD before tagging pages for speedy deletion in future. AusLondonder (talk) 23:56, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies. Somebody alerted me on my talk page about the plethora of new articles getting created, and I assumed that they were created together. I should have checked.
Given that this was created first, I will ask for the other one to be merged into this one. Do you have any objection to that? Cheers, Kautilya3 (talk) 00:10, 6 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

If you think an article about a by-election to the national parliament of the largest democracy in the world is eligible for A7 then all I can think of is WP:CIR. A7 applies to "any article about a real person, individual animals, organisation, web content or organised event that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant". There is no way in a million years this criteria applies here. --AusLondonder (talk) 23:48, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Merger discussion[edit]

It is proposed that the article Srinagar bypoll election killings 2017 be merged into this article. Please discuss. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 21:22, 6 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please merge. Two articles are quite too much for this event. — Tyler Durden (talk) 07:33, 6 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Don't merge.... The killing incident is itself notable and should have separate article.Owais Khursheed (Talk to me) 17:50, 6 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
