2019 General Election comments[edit]

I wonder if the statement under 12 December "Scottish Lib Dems replace Scottish Labour as the third party, pushing Labour into fourth place with one seat" is fair. It is true that the Scottish Lib Dems did win more seats than Labour (4 to Labour's 1), but in terms of the total vote cast in Scotland, the Labour Party was well ahead of the Lib Dems with 18.6% to their 9.5% of Scottish votes. Thus it might be better to preface this statement with "In terms of seats won...". I also wonder if it is worth mentioning that in terms of the seats the 48 total for the SNP includes Neale Hanvey who had been suspended from the party during the campaign and was not allowed to sit for the SNP after his election (although was let back in 2020)? Also I wonder if it would not be better to link to the 2019 United Kingdom general election in Scotland article rather than the main 2019 United Kingdom general election article?
