Non–conference records[edit]

There's nothing that the teams in a conference can do about having a record of .500 for in conference games during the tournament. If only using all games, nonconference and in conference, the win percentage is dragged toward .500. Also giving the non–conference records gives a more complete picture, for example, in 2017 the Big West leaped the SEC to have the highest win percentage in that tournament 2017 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament#Record by conference, in 2018 SEC leaped the Big West for 2nd place 2018 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament#Record by conference, and in 2021 the ACC leaped the Big 12 and the PAC for 2nd place 2021 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament#Record by conference. Also showing non–conference records has been being done for a handful of years. As far as none of the other Division I tournaments showing non–conference records, the basketball tournament has an upsets table and I don't believe any other Division I tournaments have it, 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament#Upsets.Jay Jor (talk) 03:08, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
