Points for Open WRC3 championship

Does really only 4 best rounds count there? While they could enter all 13 rounds? I couldnt find it on the regulation. Pelmeen10 (talk) 16:57, 17 July 2022 (UTC)

Yes, it's article 6.4.5 in the regs. Best 4 results of 5 entries count, which can be any 5 of the 13 rounds. Any other rounds can be entered as non-priority, ie. not in WRC3 (see 6.3). Rally Wonk (talk) 18:18, 17 July 2022 (UTC)

Championship order and co-drivers champion

Juniors should be listed before Open (alphabetical order) and Junior is the main competition with the regular JWRC prize (4 WRC2 starts next year in M-Sport) - which should also be written in prose here. Who was the JWRC co-drivers champion? - Armstrong’s partner Brian Hoy wrapped up the co-drivers’ title I guess also the co-drivers similarly got double points (actually makes sense) per ewrc or wrc.com. I noticed this about the co-drivers, waiting for the FIA standings to be updated as it's their title and not WRC Promoter's or eWRC's after all. If they confirm it, the rules written in the article need to be removed.

As for the order, IMO the global open championship should take precedence over what is really a one-make campus style cup run on a few rounds. Rally Wonk (talk) 15:59, 12 September 2022 (UTC)

Both championships run on Ford Fiestas and 4 results of 5 count. The precedence is given to Juniors with prize worth half a million compared to nothing. And our sources fia.com and ewrc-results.com list Junior before Open. Pelmeen10 (talk) 17:33, 12 September 2022 (UTC)

There's currently no other homologated Rally3 car to use within the Open championship, which is a support championship of the WRC. The Juniors is not according to the regs. It could/should have been, and be in common with WRC2. As it is, M-Sport and the FIA came to a commercial agreement to 'privatise' the WRC3 Juniors section, restricting it to their car and it also has the entry fees to match the prize. There's also no prize in WRC/Rally1, doesn't make it lessor to this, so this is poor reasoning. IMO the prestige is higher within the category anybody can enter, in any round.

I wouldnt call a championship prestigious that has an avarage 3 competitors per round and 0 in the next. Also an option to make the switch in order after the "Open" season has finished. Anyway, this article overall is a bit uninformative. Pelmeen10 (talk) 20:07, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
