Extension of tour[edit]

I don't know how to edit articles, but I do know Kelly has confirmed the Fall 2008 extension of the tour on her official website: http://www.kellyclarkson.com/site.php?content=tour [01:36, May 18, 2008 68.189.249.13]

Unexplained reversion[edit]

User:Alkclark made a lot of changes to this article with this edit here, under the edit summary "cleaned up article, rm fluff added albums, rewrote intro para added pic added boxscore cleaned up tour table". Some of these changes were reasonable and good, some were debatable but okay, and some were improper. In a series of edits following that, I corrected those I thought were improper. Then with absolutely no explanation whatsoever, Alkclark reverted all of my edits here. I have now undone that reversion, taking care to reapply a subsequent boxscore change that Alkclark did.

I strongly suggest that Alkclark discuss, here at this talk page, the changes I did:

  • Using a tour poster for the infobox image, not a photo. The photo was deleted at Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2009 January 8.
  • Removing a redundant parent cat: Category:Concert tours is not needed, because it is a parent of both Category:Kelly Clarkson concert tours and Category:Reba McEntire concert tours.
  • Correcting the mistake in saying that entire tour's gross was $7 million. That was just the first part. So far I haven't been able to find a source for what the second part's gross was, or the total of the tour.
  • The tour had two legs, not one. If a completely different segment, added on after the initial tour start and separated by months isn't a 'leg', what is?
  • Explaining in lead section that this was a shared tour, not a co-headlining tour, in the sense that they shared the stage for most of the show. That's an important difference that needs to be made clear.
  • Whether this tour was in "support" of albums or not. I don't see how we can say that it was in support of Clarkson's My December, because she avoided the album almost completely (only playing two songs from it) and the genesis of the tour was Clarkson and McEntire sharing the same manager and looking to explore an interesting musical collaboration, not a desire to boost album sales. Why it's true that 90% of tours are in conjunction with an album release, this is one of the 10% that isn't.
  • "Critical reception" section deserves to be higher up in article. Once people get to the long reference sections, especially "Tour dates", they may stop reading. So I think the section should be higher up, since it's more important. I can live with it at the bottom, though.
  • Removing italics from quotes: per WP:MOSQUOTE#Italics_and_quotations, quotations should be in normal font.

Now which of these changes does Alkclark object to, and why? Wasted Time R (talk) 13:43, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
