I have checked the following thirteen biographies of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and cannot find any mention of Mrs. A. S. Nathaniel:

  • Jinnah: Man of Destiny by Prakash Almeida (2001)
  • In Quest of Jinnah: Diary, Notes, and Correspondence of Hector Bolitho edited by Sharif al Mujahid (2007)
  • Mohammad Ali Jinnah: The Great Enigma by Sheshrao Chavan (2006) (mentions his death at Ziarat)
  • Quaid-I-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and the Creation of Pakistan by Sailesh Kumar Bandopadhaya (1991)
  • The Charismatic Leader: Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and the Creation of Pakistan by Sikandar Hayat (2008) (mentions his illness and time at Ziarat on p. 90, and his doctor Lt. Col. Ilahi Baksh, but not any nurse. It suggests "Also see, Suleri, My Leader, LII-LVI, for some details on treatment provided at Ziarat in particular. For an additional account of Jinnah's political activities at Ziarat see, Wolpert, Jinnah of Pakistan, 362-9.")
  • Jinnah: The Founder of Pakistan in the eyes of his contemporaries and his documentary records at Lincoln's Inn compiled and edited by Saleem Qureshi (1998) (mentions Ziarat in the Chronology section, no mention of any of his nurses)
  • Memories of Jinnah by K. H. Khurshid edited by Khalid Hasan (1990) (mentions on page 83 that Chaudhri Muhammad Ali met Jinnah for the last time at Ziarat about a week before his death, no mention of any nurses)
  • Mohammed Ali Jinnah: Maker of Modern Pakistan in the series Problems in Asian Civilizations from D. C. Heath and Company edited by Sheila Mc Donough (1970)
  • Jinnah by K. McPherson in the Leaders of Asia series (1980) (very short, mentions his death from tuberculosis on page 30 but not any of his nurses)
  • The Political Career of Mohammad Ali Jinnah by William S. Metz, edited by Roger D. Long (2010) (simply says on p. 132 that Jinnah died in September 1948)
  • Muhammad Ali Jinnah: A Journey from India to Pakistan by J.B.P. More (2019) (focuses on Jinnah's political career, does not discuss his time in Ziarat or his death)
  • Quaid-i-Azam Jinnah: Studies in Interpretation by Sharif Al Mujahid, published under the auspices of the Committee on Quaid-I-Azam Biography by Quaid-i-Azam Academy (1981) (in Appendix 19, Jinnah: A Chronology, pp. 658-659, it says he moved to Quetta on advice of his physician Dr. Ilahi Bakhsh, also mentions he was at Ziarat and then died in Karachi, no mention of nurses; in Appendix 20, Biographical Notes, there is no entry for Jinnah's doctor nor his nurses)
  • Road to Pakistan: The Life and Times of Mohammad Ali Jinnah by B. R. Nanda (2010) (on p. 327 there is a paragraph about how he fell ill with tuberculosis and lung cancer, was moved to "Zirat," then Quetta, then Karachi, and then died and was buried, without any mention of his doctor or nurses)

In In Quest of Jinnah Bolitho mentions another nurse who apparently also attended to Jinnah at Ziarat, Sister Phyllis Dunham (p. 10, pp. 89-90, and p. 204), but not Nathaniel. He also mentions his doctor Lt.-Col. Ilahi Baksh, as does Mohammad Ali Jinnah: The Great Enigma (on p. 289), The Charismatic Leader (in a note on p. 90), and Studies in Interpretation (p. 659).

The first and second editions of My Leader by Z. A. Suleri were released in 1945, before Jinnah's death (http://indianculture.gov.in/ebooks/my-leader-being-estimate-mr-jinnahs-work-indian-mussalmans and https://archive.org/details/dli.bengal.10689.20151/mode/2up); I cannot find any later editions available online.

Does anyone know where more sources about Mrs. Nathaniel might be found, so the article can be expanded beyond a seven-sentence stub?

I found these videos about her on YouTube:

Unfortunately I cannot understand them. Someone who can may be able to add them as citations. The second and third videos link to a 2011 interview in Family Magazine (https://web.archive.org/web/20110629104051/https://family.nawaiwaqt.com.pk/ePaper/E-Paper/Lahore/2011-06-19/page-20 and https://family.nawaiwaqt.com.pk/ePaper/E-Paper/Lahore/2011-06-19/page-21) however unfortunately those links now 404 and the Internet Archive does not actually preserve any of the text (https://web.archive.org/web/20110629104051/https://family.nawaiwaqt.com.pk/ePaper/E-Paper/Lahore/2011-06-19/page-20).
