Twice, this item has been added and deleted:

George W. Bush, when spelled aWol: a play on George W. Bush's absences without leave from the Texas Air National Guard and his nickname W

This entry should be allowed to stand, because it is widespread use. Here are some examples:

"Seems that two pilots from the Alabama Air National Guard unit that aWol supposedly served in while away from his Texas unit don't remember him." [1] (one of about 45 entries on "the fulcrum")
Both Kagan & Kristol of the Standard, and their protégé, David Brooks ... note that aWol is on the verge of losing popular support for the war in Iraq. When will aWol be done censoring the 9/11 report? [3] (one of about 33 entries on Eschaton (also known as Atrios); most of which spell AWOL in all caps)

Dear forgot-to-sign-your-post: I deleted it the 2nd time and I stand by my decision. But before I note my reasons, I have to say that I'm not American and I don't know nor care about the issue; but I don't need to know or care, as I just came here to do disambig-cleanup and that's what I'm doing, per WP:MOSDAB.

This is a dab page, not an initialism or a dictionary page, and definitely not a page to store content
The issue raises questions about POV, neologisms, and widespread usage (all of which are covered by guidelines, please search)
No Wikipedia user will type "awol" when looking for George W. Bush, therefore eliminating the need for dab
The article you are linking to does not mention the term at all, therefore invalidating the principle and the objective of dabbing

I suggest you move the content elsewhere, for instance to Awol (Bush). THEN you can dab from here (and the content will be put up for scrutiny). In the meanwhile, I'll do cleanup. --maf 05:46, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with putting the content elsewhere. I think the "No Wikipedia user will type "awol" when looking for George W. Bush" is a VERY good point. Leave it on the George W Bush page, but it isn't noteworthy enough for a disambiguation page.
