That second paragraph saying this song is "a reminiscence of Covington's formative years" is a bunch of hooey. First, Covington isn't one of the songwriters for this song. Second, Covington was born in 1977 and many of the things the songs sings about - lead paint, only 3 television channels, school prayer, etc. - were ancient history by the time Covington grew up. The reminiscences in the song are more appropriate for someone born in the 1940's or 1950's.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. I knew this guy had to be about my age (turns out he's exactly my age), and even though
the world's changed quite a bit from when I was a kid, nobody my age experienced half of the stuff in this horrid little pseudo-
nostalgic song. Gag me with an eight track.
