Arabesque?[edit]

I've always assumed that the name "Abba-esque" (meaning like ABBA) is a pun on "arabesque", a style of music from Turkey. I'm not sure whether that assumption is founded, or whether a suitable source can be cited. I am going to be bold and add it anyway, but can someone confirm or refute this suggestion? leevclarke (talk) 23:16, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Squeak?[edit]

There is a squeak about 2:25 into the song. I've heard this on a CD and I've noticed it's also on various versions of the video on Youtube. But, I can't find anything on the net about this squeak, what it is and why it is there. This sort of audible nugget is usually well-publicised, for instance Barry McGuire's brief vocal at the start of "California Dreamin'".80.6.35.235 (talk) 15:30, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You'd have to tell us which of the four songs has this squeak. I suspect you're thinking of "Lay All Your Love on Me", which does indeed have an odd sound effect at 2:25, but it's probably intentional - Vince Clark was a fastidious producer and it's all sequenced. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 18:18, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
