Big edit and possible future improvements[edit]

I have made a large edit to the article adding various details about Awda's life. There are some areas that I do think need expanding or revising, but I do not have the skills to do so.

  1. His life after 2000: It seems that most sources about Awda's life after 2000 are in Arabic, which I cannot read, speak, or understand. I don't want to put misinformation in an article because Google Translate is bad (and it definitely didn't seem good based on how it rendered the Arabic Wikipedia article on Awda). It would probably be a good thing to include materials about his life after 2000 aside from the indictments (which isn't really "his life").
  2. Expert revision: I am probably about as knowledgeable on the Middle East and especially Palestinian history as the average Wikipedian, which is far below expert. I do not know for certain who are and are not the best authorities to cite aside being confident that Skare, Abu-Amr, and Hatina are "good". Obviously someone who knows their stuff about this topic will be able to more easily sort the wheat from the chaff, and if there is chaff, find some wheat to replace it or revise the article accordingly.
  3. Arabic transliteration of his name: As mentioned before I cannot read Arabic and I do not know how to render his name in IPA or in the manner in which most biographical articles do. I also have no idea if the alternate bolded names are actually the alternate spellings he is well-known by (they were there before the edit). The sources give a ton of different spellings aside from Awda: Auda (the spelling Abu-Amr uses), Odeh, Uda, etc.

update: I have added the list of alternate name renderings I have found, so that part of point 3 is done. Eithersummer (talk) 22:49, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
