Error[edit]

Abernant is certainly south (east) of Builth, but the map reference is wrong, and the details in the information box are wrong — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.75.199.193 (talk) 01:33, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The whole thing is a bit of a dog's breakfast, I'm afraid. There are many places called Abernant (Aber-nant) in Wales, and at least three of them are in Powys. This article manages to confuse information about all three! The history is as follows:

On 1 Feb 2008 User:Yr Wyddfa created a page about the hamlet of Abernant in the Erwood Community Council area (in the old county of Brecknockshire): this is the hamlet situated 6 miles south-east of Builth, at the mouth of the stream flowing east from Banc y Celen to the Wye. (Abernant does not mean "mouth of the spring", BTW, but "mouth of the stream".)
On 25 March 2010 User:Eyeg1234 added a reference to the Manor Adventure activity centre: this is situated at Abernant Hotel (a different Abernant!) 11.5 miles west, in the Llanwrtyd Wells Community Council area.
On 8 April 2014 User:Wici Rhuthun 1 altered the geographic co-ordinates and added an infobox and map relating to yet another Abernant, situated 32 miles north-north-east of the "original" one in the Berriew Community Council area (in the old county of Montgomeryshire), but otherwise left the article's text unchanged.
On 31 March 2014, an article (to which this one is linked) was created on the Welsh-language Wikipedia. It relates (text and infobox) to the Montgomeryshire Abernant.

This all needs sorting! Although I'm generally an "inclusionist" both hamlets (in Erwood and Berriew) are very tiny – half a dozen houses, if that – so I'm wondering whether either really merits an article. I'm "sleeping on it" for now, but if anyone else has any suggestions... -- Picapica (talk) 18:32, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
