This is not a dictionary article. It doesn't explain the word but describes the function and the construction of an accommodation ladder. --Obersachse (talk) 17:20, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For boarding of maritime pilots it is prohibited to use a Jacob's ladder instead of the accommodation ladder.[edit]

Could a citation and explanation on this be provided? Irbisgreif (talk) 14:38, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Very good, but you should put it on the main page as a citation, rather than here on the talk. Does that source include an explanation of /why/ it's the case? I can't help but read this article and feel it should include why that's the rule. Especially as the Jacob's ladder article says Jacob's ladders are for the boarding of pilots. There is no explanation in my book and it may be only a local german rule. That's why I didn't put the source on the article page. If you think we should delete the sentence - feel free to do so. --Obersachse (talk) 22:26, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I am too unfamiliar with naval things to feel comfortable doing that, the statement just makes me want to ask 'why?' like a child, that's all. Irbisgreif (talk) 23:09, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
