Requested edit[edit]

Please change the word "had" to "has" in the lead. He remains a Southampton player for now. 81.14.46.25 (talk) 18:23, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 24 May 2014[edit]

Adam's height is 5'8". The only reason he is listed here at 5'7.5" is because the cited source lists him as 172cm, which wiki correctly converts to 5'7.5". However, the cited source firstly lists him at 5'8" and then incorrectly, in brackets, provides the height in centimeters, due to human error when the data was entered into that page. Adam's premierleague.com profile should be able to be used here and considered reliable, where he is listed at 173cm (5'8") which backs up his profile on his clubs website, which is the cited source currently on wiki. http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/players/profile.overview.html/adam-lallana Chriscampbell1 (talk) 03:00, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Height Reference[edit]

Following on from my edit request the other day, I see no reason why the source should be altered from Adam's more reliable club website profile to the premierleague.com one. The club one still lists him at 5'8", it just incorrectly lists the height in cm's. I only provided the premierleague.com profile link to show that it backs up the club one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chriscampbell1 (talkcontribs) 05:51, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. We all know he is 177 cm tall but there is not official link to that. Curious situation Trucoplus (talk) 19:05, 16 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

GA Review[edit]

This review is transcluded from Talk:Adam Lallana/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

Reviewer: Paul W (talk) 16:06, 1 July 2021 (UTC) Noticed this on the July GAN drive page. As a footy fan, will review... Paul W (talk) 16:06, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lead[edit]

  • "... lifting the 2019–20 Premier League." - Lifting a cup maybe, not sure about lifting a league - winning better?  Done
  • "... over 30 appearances... - If it's 34, say 34. Maybe mention three goals for his country  Done
  • "... for England and represented them at ...". - England is singular, surely. Maybe simpler just to say "...England, including at..."  Done Reworded

Southampton[edit]

  • "... nominated for the Player of the Year award but lost ..." Maybe clarify that this was the Southampton POTY (avoids confusion with mention of PFA award later in para).  Done
  • Suggest a mention of his contribution to winning promotion from League One in 2010-11. Otherwise, excluding the passing reference to the Championship PFA ToTY, the narrative quickly leaps from League One to Premier League.  Done
  • Similarly, the rise to the Premiership was the result of winning a second successive promotion - a fairly rare club achievement.  Done
  • "... he was named as one of the six players on the shortlist for the PFA Players' Player of the Year award." - Shorten to "he was shortlisted for the PFA..." (assume he didn't win? Maybe mention who did - as was mentioned for the Southampton award won by Lambert)  Done
  • On the Southampton season awards, not sure "crowned" is right. Also, the source says Lallana's goal against Hull was voted goal of the season. Having started the paragraph by mentioning it, maybe add this accolade?  Done
  • The Honours section mentions Southampton winning the 2009-10 FL Trophy. Maybe worth a mention.  Done

Liverpool[edit]

  • " After long periods of negotiation Liverpool..." Maybe simpler to say "After prolonged negotiation, ..."  Done
  • When was the transfer announced? Date would be good.  Done
  • "...missed the start of the league season," - maybe Premier League season  Done
  • "...resulting in Liverpool's loss in..." - defeat better than loss?  Done
  • The 2016-2020 section begins with a paragraph that seems to describe every goal Lallana scored. A bit excessive. Better to summarise the most notable games/goals? Done
  • "Lallana signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool" - how long was the deal, through to when?  Done
  • "...to next year's UEFA Champions League" - better to say "to the 2017-18 UEFA ..."  Done
  • In the next para, again, it mentions "a place in next year's UEFA Champions League group stages," - Again, be specific about which season's competition.  Done

Brighton & Hove Albion[edit]

I made some changes to this section before starting the GAN review.

International career[edit]

  • No sources given for age-group games before first full international call-up (though the source for his call-up could be reused for his single u21s cap). Done I am no longer subscribed to The Times but I have seen this article in the past and am 98% sure it has the required information.
  • "... proved to be England's winning goal of the match" - Delete "of the match". Done
  • "... after his performance for the national team" - surely performances (plural).
  • "... he was one of five players named on standby... " - Needs to be closed out by saying he didn't go, with source. Done I have removed it as it is irrelevant in the long run.
  • In the Personal life section, maybe a wikilink to Poole?
It is part of a name and shouldn't be wikilinked only in part. I could link the full name to Poole if you think it's nessercery. REDMAN 2019 (talk) 11:20, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Generally, the article is well-sourced. I have checked a large number of the citations and they fairly reflected the assertions made, and all appear to be reliable sources (no tabloids, blogs). There are no bare URLS, and no deadlinks cropped up during my initial review. Nothing majorly wrong, so with a few fixes as outlined above this looks good to me. Paul W (talk) 17:26, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
