See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adidas Telstar 18 - reasoning: No notability, no references. Vague article, and a lot of articles on footballs could be combined into one article e.g. "Adidas footballs" Master Of Ninja (talk) 14:06, 16 December 2017 (UTC)

Reception and performance[edit]

@HiLo48:, if you have a different assessment of the ball, you can add it to the article with citations. Removing properly referenced material because you think it is "nonsense" seems to me an inverted form of WP:OR. There are plenty of articles stating that the ball was designed to prevent "knuckle balls," but they read like they were lifted from Adidas press releases with no further research. As I mentioned in one of my edit summaries, I heard a statement to the contrary in the commentary during a World Cup match, so I went looking and found numerous reports that supported the commentator's view. Players blaming the ball for their mistakes is simply not encyclopaedic. It's pathetic. It's the sort of attitude from prima donna players that is preventing the game growing in my country. Of course it can be referenced. The media love that sort of stuff. Doesn't prove the ball is faulty though. HiLo48 (talk) 08:21, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Country of manufacture[edit]

The sources are unanimous that the match balls used in the FIFA World Cup are made in Pakistan, while some other versions are made in China. I haven't found a source stating that the balls being used in Russia for the FIFA World Cup are made in China, but there are numerous sources (some cited in the article) stating they are made in Pakistan. There are sources saying that the balls are also made in China (I cited one in the article), but they don't claim that these balls are being used in the World Cup. If you can find a source that says that balls from China are being used in World Cup matches, please provide it. Whatever the case, let's settle it. Jack N.
