Needs grammatical fixing, some sections of the article switch between present and past tenseGSMedia 15:09, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article is not up-to-date at least as far as the latest beta (preview) version information goes. I don't presently have access to the latest information or I'd update it myself. Understandably Wikipedia's not responsible for tracking every release Chris Jones makes. However if I recall correctly there have been at least one to two further beta releases since the last version update in the article, but other edits to the article have been made. I'm not a major contributor to Wikipedia and appreciate all that the project and its contributors do. Thanks to anyone willing to try and keep this article current! - monkey_05_06 (142.192.10.50 (talk) 20:25, 20 September 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Pauca sed bona[edit]

Please discuss the changes you want to make here, and don't just keep editing the article when your opinion is one against 3 different reverters and a vandalism bot. --Amaccormack (talk) 08:28, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:NOTLINK discourages pages becoming filled with lists of external links, which is what this article is slowly becoming. As a fan of AGS games myself, I think we simply need to point out one or two notable games, not every single game which has been praised by someone or another. For example, we don't need to mention each individual KQ remake, just say that four games in the KQ series have been remade by various developers. If you disagree, find me another Wikipedia page (B-Class or better) that has more external links in the body of the article. Quality, not quantity, should be the goal. Every article for a game company or game engine has a list of games made with it, and most have at least 20-30 mentioned. I haven't played the games myself, but even I've heard of at least five of these through PC magazines and popular games pages outside of amateur game websites. If the external links are the problem, remove the links and list them at the end if necessary, and make articles for the most important ones. And I don't understand Pauca sed bona's insistence that the list of alternative engines be removed- that has no precedence what so ever. I've looked through several engine articles, and while they have a list of games (that's fine with me), none of them have a summary of every single listed game. That's overkill, in my view. If the goal is to improve this article to match B-Class or better standards, the list has to be seriously pruned. Green451 (talk) 04:34, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I remember that there was a list of games created with AGS available here. Why was it removed? Normosphere (talk) 12:00, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I wanted to add: An Independent Games Festival Indie Game Winner in 2013 called Cart Life also used AGS. (Specifically THE illusive Cart Life that won an award for indie game of the year and then was mysteriously taken off Steam and shutdown their website)

Use of IRL[edit]

Is it really necessary to use IRL, a slang term, when something better could be used, such as real world or even face-to-face.Rickane58 (talk) 17:43, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

IRL is no longer in the article, it now says "real-world". --82.171.13.139 (talk) 22:10, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Website Down[edit]

AGS website is dead...anyone know why? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.24.143.239 (talk) 02:57, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

The result of this discussion was MERGE . 146.66.46.175 (talk) 15:12, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The article AGS Awards is an incomplete reproduction of content from the wiki pages at https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/wiki/AGS_Awards so it would make more sense to just link to that page instead of duplicating it here As per WP:UGC, "Content from websites whose content is largely user-generated is generally unacceptable. Sites with user-generated content include personal websites, personal and group blogs (excluding newspaper and magazine blogs), content farms, Internet forums, social media sites, fansites, video and image hosting services, most wikis and other collaboratively created websites." Merging the greatly reduced text into the AGS Awards section of the Adventure Game Studio article would be the cleanest (and easiest to maintain in future) solution. Please discuss here. 146.66.46.218 (talk) 17:50, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No objections so as per WP:MERGECLOSE I will move forward with the merger. 146.66.46.175 (talk) 15:12, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
