Differentiation of articles on ship and community[edit]

I moved considerable amount of content about the people of Africatown to here from the article Clotilda (slave ship), in order to have most of the community material here. This will make it easier to keep it updated and accurate. The ship article is properly about it and the potential archeological excavation, etc. I have put the ship captain's journal as an External Link for both articles, as well as some other cites/sources. naming[edit]

I would recommend that you use "enslaved" people or person rather than "slave"... it's pretty much becoming accepted that this is a more respectful way to describe a person who has been enslaved. They are not a slave by definition, they are a person who has been enslaved unwillingly. In the case of the people on the Clotilda, they were Africans who had been enslaved and forcibly brought to the Americas.--Somapsyche (talk) 00:34, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
