"References" vs. "External links"[edit]

Hi, all. The reason I've changed "External links" to "References" comes from these sections of Wikipedia:Cite_sources, quoted verbatim below. (Please note in Item 2 below that the italics are theirs, and not inserted by me.) Thanks!

1)

Complete citations in a "References" section
Complete citations, also called "references," are collected at the end of the article under a ==References== heading. Under this heading, list the comprehensive reference information as a bulleted (*) list, one bullet per reference work.

2)

External links/Further reading
The ==External links== or ==Further reading== section is placed after the references section, and offers books, articles, and links to websites related to the topic that might be of interest to the reader, but which have not been used as sources for the article. Where there is a references section, editors may prefer to call the external links section "further reading," because the references section may also contain external links, and the further reading section may contain items that are not online.

So sources used to write an article go under "References", and other helpful citations go under "External links" if they're linkable and "Further reading" if they're not online. — Tenebrae 14:18, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Identifying the SHB images[edit]

Who is the black man with the facial tattoos, in the background? He's not one of the listed members in the article. --Tenebrae (talk) 17:49, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lost Generation Appearance Incorrect?[edit]

The article mentions that the team officially appeared as a group in Marvel: The Lost Generation, but I don't think this is correct. Venus appeared in the series, but not as part of the team. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Steveg99 (talkcontribs) 04:19, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Avengers Forever[edit]

In Avengers Forever, their timeline was removed from existence. Any retcon from Marvel to explain this? WookMuff (talk) 12:58, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It was the separate alternate timeline of the 1950's Avengers that was eliminated, but the Agents of Atlas exist in the regular mainstream 616 Marvel Universe. No recon necessary.

Appearances[edit]

Why the sudden need to remove their appearances from other comics including their own?--Ottertron (talk) 04:02, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There's been much discussion at the WikiProject Comics page about the rampant "list-creep," for want of a better description of the growing number of lists of appearances. The feeling of several editors is that these lists are redundant in that Publication history covers this essential information with needed context; and that the lack of citations mean these lists are original-research compilations that may not be accurate or comprehensive. The better articles have links to databases where such lists are at least semi-professionally vetted for accuracy and comprehensiveness. See such Good Articles as Superman, for example, to see how series are discussed in context. Hope this helps. --Tenebrae (talk) 05:53, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, that make sense. Just wanted to know. Thanks--Ottertron (talk) 18:46, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
