Jazz standard[edit]

It has been queried whether Airegin stands as a jazz standard. Barry Kernfeld's Grove article says "... Miles Davis, with whom he introduced three compositions of his own which later became jazz standards: Airegin , Doxy and Oleo". AllyD (talk) 08:29, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have access to the article since I don't have an email account. Does the source discuss the standard in depth? If not, there's a lack of notability with regards to this article. Sikonmina (talk) 08:52, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ah, that's a shame re the email constraint, noting the work you have been doing recently in pruning a wide range of articles. On the specific question, no I wouldn't claim that Kernfeld's "Grove" article is in-depth on "Airegin" itself, but it and others such as Giddins' "Visions of Jazz: The First Century" [1] do confirm it to be considered as a standard. However the Gioia reference that I added is more substantial, including coverage of others' performances of it. AllyD (talk) 09:09, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Why would it be a shame? I don't want to make an email account. Is that a problem? Sikonmina (talk) 09:20, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • My comment related to email was just because access to various Wikipedia Library reference resources needs an email, that's all. AllyD (talk) 09:32, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
